Supplication (dua) is the essence of worship and its the way to request Allah جَلَّ جَلَالُهٌ his blessings and forgiveness of sins. Invocation is the connection between man and his true Lord. It is also an essential part of faith. Therefore, Muslims supplicate on a special occasion. It is also the best form of worship. Its award is in the way of acceptance and also reward in the hereafter.

Importance of Dua/supplication

  • Dua protects us against Satan, our enemy.
  • It keeps us away from pride.
  • Dua is a source to get near to Allah جَلَّ جَلَالُهٌ.
  • Its bridge to reach Allah. Allah جَلَّ جَلَالُهٌ says in the Quran.

Call me up; I will respond to you, “indeed, those who disdain My worship will enter hell despicable.

How to make Dua?

Dua is not merely a set of words. It is a way to connect to Allah جَلَّ جَلَالُهٌ. For the acceptance of dua, keep in mind:

  • Make pure intention for dua.
  • Prefer to make dua in Arabic but can supplicate in other languages.
  • Supplicate with total submission to Allah جَلَّ جَلَالُهٌ.
  • Start with praise to Almighty Allah جَلَّ جَلَالُهٌ.
  • Believe by heart on the Power of dua and its acceptance by Allah جَلَّ جَلَالُهٌ.
  • Give up sins.
  • Do good deeds and then supplicate.
  • Be thankful to Allah جَلَّ جَلَالُهٌ.
  • Pray for others.
  • Ask others to pray for you also.
  • Have submissiveness, humility, fear, and hope.

DUA Acceptance times

Supplicate in following times for its acceptance:

  • During rain
  • After good deed
  • In fasting and more specifically at aftar
  • In tahajjud prayer
  • An hour On Fridays
  • During traveling
  • During Adhan and Iqama
  • After Namaz

Prophet (peace be upon him) said,

Three men whose dua will never reject are:

the fasting person until he breaks his fast (in another narration, when he breaks fast)the just ruler and the oppressed person.

Supplications

Start every good deed with the name of Allah جَلَّ جَلَالُهٌ and then make dua. Completely rely on Allah’s will in dua/ supplication.
