Haroof e Murakabat
What is Murakabat | Joining letters?
Murakabat or Joining letters is the attachment or combination of two or more than two letters. While a letter joins another letter, it may change the different shape. So, one letter may have different shapes. Many letters of the Arabic alphabet have a similar shape but differ by the position of Dots.
How to Read?
In this lesson, student needs to read joint letters separately one by one. Each letter has its sound. The shape of the letter needs to be recognized in different places. The letter may be written short-handed and customized for joining another letter. So, shape also changes in this way accordingly. Each alphabet having a Dot must be recognized by dot proper placement so that the dot of the letter must help in recognition of the letter. The student should practice with a different alphabet and join.

In this lesson, all letters are written and joined with others. Almost every Arabic letter can be joined to its neighbor letter from both sides except a few letters So, the letter can join normally as well as by four contextual shapes. Letters shapes may be isolated, initial, medial, and final. However, the letters that have no initial or medial shape, can be joined only to their previous letter. Those letters are: Alif, Daal, Zaal, Raa, Zaa, Waow.
