Fatimah bint Muhammad | The Pure One

Hazrat Fatimah bint Muhammad(RA) was the youngest daughter of the Prophet (PBUH). Being youngest she was Prophet’s most favourite and beloved. She was born in Makkah Mukarma a few years before her father was granted Prophethood. Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and His wife Khadijah both expressed great happiness at her birth.

She and her mother and sisters Ruqayya, Zaynab, and Umm Kulthum accepted Islam soon after the first revelation. She spent her early years under the loving and affection care of her parents. Along with great love at home she deeply experiences trials and tribulations of Her Father. As that was beginning of His cause of spreading Islam, People were against him. All these events brought up her to a strong and characterful woman. Her maturity was such that she faced all this with unusual patience and determination. Zeal for the defence right and sacred and love of Islam was ingrained in her.

Marriage

When Fatimah bint Muhammad was eighteen years old and prominent personalities started proposing for her. But Allah’s Prophet accepted the proposal of Hazrat Ali for her. She was married to Hazrat Ali bin Abi Talib. He was the cousin of Prophet(PBUH) and son of Abu Talib. She had two sons, Hazrat Hassan and Hazrat Husain the great martyrs of Islam.

Qualities of Hazrat Fatimah bint Muhammad

Pure Women

Allah Almighty had purified Fatima(RA) from every sin and every defect. She has blessed with all virtues, perfect daughter, perfect wife and mother, such as that she is an example for all the women of the world.

Charity to the Poor

 Hazrat Fatima (RA) was very kind to needy people. Moreover, Hazrat Fatima (RA) milled wheat and barley for her poor neighbours who were unable to do that. She carried water to her weak neighbours who could not get water. She (RA) spends her life for the sake and pleasure of Allah Almighty.

Simple Life full of Virtues

Hazrat Fatima (RA) led a simple life just like her father Prophet Muhammad (SAW). She never falls into this world beauty. she always tried to make Allah Almighty can be happy with her. She (RA) lived in a two-room house made out of clay, wore the simplest garments from head to toe, ground wheat and barley with her bare hands to prepare a meal for her family, and attended to her four children with utmost love and mercy. Hazrat Fatima (RA) had high moral virtues. Life of Hazrat Fatima (RA) is full of spiritual behaviour.

Chastity and Veiling

Hazrat Fatima (RA) was very active in her personal and social life but along with all this, she was so careful in safeguarding her honour and self-respect. She avoided all any strangers. Even she said to bury Her at night so that no stranger could see. The chastity and veiling of Hazrat Fatima (RA) is the greatest example that every Muslim woman who wants to live an honourable life in society.

Faith in Allah Almighty

There is no doubt in the deep faith of Hazrat Fatima (RA) on Allah Almighty. She spent most of her days and nights in worshipping Allah (SWT). Once She asked for a servant to Her father The Prophet (S) said, ‘Shall I tell you about what is better than what you ask me for? When you go to bed, you recite thirty-four takbirs, thirty-three tasbihs, and thirty-three tahmids. This is better for you than a servant”. After that She used to recite this Tasbeeh ever, taught it to childern.

Perfect Wife

After Her (RA) marriage, she led a simple life; her dowry consisted of simple things that are her basic needs only. Hazrat Ali (RA) used to look after outside work while she (RA) looks after her house and children Hassan (RA) and Hussain (RA). She showed immense courage by standing next to her father Muhammad Prophet (SAW) and her Husband Ali (RA).
