Allah is one

Who is Allah? The Creator | The Sustainer | Master of day of Judgement

Who is Allah?

“Allah” is the Arabic word for the One and only Creator of the universe. Gods Title Allah  (اللہ)  is derived from a root “له”(Laam +Ha). However, in order to make it a proper noun, an additional alif (ا) and laam (ل) were annexed to the beginning of the word. Referring to the following grammatical formula al (اَل) + lah (لاه) = Allah (الله). The root word“له” (Laam + Ha) indicate the ever-living, One to Whom everything belongs, Owner of everything, one Who decides matters on merit and credits, Who is causative, foremost, nearest, closest, the most prominent, important, leading-edge, driving power of everything, authorized, intelligent, incisive, keen, analytical, sharp-witted, perceptive, insightful, clever, smart, quick; concise, clear, thoughtful, crediting, sovereignty, powerful ‎beyond measure, the Creator, the Lord, one and only God. Quran states the best definition of “Allah” in Surah Iklas as:

Surah Iklas, Allah is one, Touheed

Say, “He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah—the Sustainer. He has never had offspring, nor was He born. And there is none comparable to Him.

Quran 112:1-4

Surah Ikhlas sums up the essence of Islam and negates all forms of polytheism. In the Quran the word “Ahad” meaning “The One” is used only for Allah, and no one else. He has no partners or helpers. Worship is directed to Him alone, for He is the Only One worthy of worship. There is no plurality for ‘Allah’. Similarly, the term ‘Allah’ is gender-free. Moreover, the whole world is dependent upon the Almighty for the fulfilment of its needs, but He is in need of no one.

Allah didn’t give birth to anyone nor He was born. So, He has no beginning and therefore no end. He is the Creator of each and everything in the universe, but He was not created by any power. Nothing in the whole universe is comparable to Him in nature and attributes. There is none in the heavens or earth, nor ever was and nor ever can be, who is equal to Allah. He is one and only. Surah Ikhlas is a short declaration of Touheed and the absolute oneness of One God, the Almighty and an exact introduction to Him.
